Ballroom Dancing and Television, So You Think You Can Dance?

room dance competitions have been broadcast on television for years. Men and women of different ages and nationalities dance in costumes ranging from elegant to fun and sexy fun competing for titles in all Standard categories of Latin American and ballroom. Television aired these strictly ballroom dance competitions floor where professional judges determined the outcome and the public were merely spectators.

In the last two years have added a new twist to dance competitions thanks to the "reality TV." madness. Television shows like "So You Think Can Dance?, Ballroom Bootcamp and Dancing With the Stars have come to the airwaves with a tremendous reaction from viewers. Tune million every week to watch and root for their favorites.

Ballroom Bootcamp airs on TLC (The Learning Channel) and is a wonderful series where three ordinary people every day from all walks of life are paired with three professional dancers and given five weeks to learn either the cha-cha, waltz, tango, jive or rumba. At the end of 5 weeks they are matched against each other in a real ballroom dance competition where judges decide the winner.

So You Think You Can Dance?, The invention of the Fox television has its judges (some of which are also choreographers of the program) go to New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Atlanta and check out hundreds of dancers. Not all the dancers are dancing games, many are students from jazz, break dance, contemporary dance, etc. Once the field has been reduced to 20 (10 men and 10 women) Dancers are in couples and. the main competition starts.

Each week, each couple is given the dance to be played the week next. This may be one of the ballroom dances, or set one of the other forms of dance, jazz, contemporary. They have 7 days to work with choreographer and get their dance ready. TV viewers vote for their favorites and each week the judges decide who to vote the lowest pair 3 First leave the show.

Dancing With the Stars on ABC is a favorite among television dance competition. Bailando with the Stars pairs a professional dancer with a celebrity. There have been sports celebrities, soccer and basketball players, boxers and wrestlers women and even a skater Olympic speed, artists, singers, actors, television presenters talk show and even a competitor who had a prosthetic leg. Every week celebrities have to learn at least one new dance.

Towards the end there were weeks when they have to learn two dances in one week. These are strictly ballroom (Both standard and Latin American) dances. Judges who have danced professionally in dance criticism, and the score of each of the dancers with a high score 30 points being possible. After each show the audience votes on their favorite either by phone or online. The counting of votes of the audience for 50% of the accounts of scores of judges, 50% and each week the couple with the low score is sent home.
