Artificial Silk Plants

Has anyone heard of an aquarium ornament to raise the pH in a freshwater tank?

The PH has always been very high (8 to 8.5) in my freshwater tank plant less. I removed all the gravel and rocks that proved to be calcareous (muriatic acid). This helped somewhat, but the PH is still creeping up after more frequent (twice weekly) water changes. I am sure that the silk plants can not affect it. I'm beginning to suspect a very large artificial piece of driftwood. Perhaps one element in the resin or paint? Any input is greatly appreciated! Note the water that I put in the tank is pH 6.5.

N the driftwood is not really the root cause. Real driftwood only lower the pH. Limestone certainly will increase the pH, lime and everything. Are you adding chemicals? At least you can buy some lowering of pH as a last resort if all else fails.
