How do guinea pigs do with a comfort harness?

I was looking at earlmay and i found a medium comfort harness. Since I can't take my guinea pig outside cause i don't have a hutch, I was thinking about letting it run on a leash. Also is a 30" Long 19"Wide 17" high cage big enough.How big is 7.5 square feet.

Leashes are a great idea for dogs. They are not a good idea for piggies, even though there are companies that manufacture and advertise their use with guinea pigs.

Because guinea pigs are prey animals, they do not enjoy wide open spaces or "walking". If something surprises your piggie, it will jump and run (flight instinct) and meet the end of a very unforgiving leash. This usually results in tragic neck or spinal injuries, even on a harness. A better idea would be to have indoor floor time, which is essential for exercise and good health.

A cage that is 30"x19" is equal to 3.5 square feet. So you need a cage at least twice that size or a bit larger.

It really isn't necessary to have your piggie outside. They do very well indoors, where they can play in a temperature controlled environment without fear of predators.
