Self-Applied Methods of Male Enhancement

Over the years, do-it-yourself methods have been explored in the name of male enhancement. These are promoted not only as ways to enlarge the penis, but also to enhance one's erections and perform better and longer in the bedroom.
Here are some male enhancement methods being done today:

  • Use of penis pump

A cylinder fitted over the penis, a penis pump is conventionally used to treat impotence. Higher quality, though, also means a much higher price.

Here's how it works. A penis pump – either manual or motorized – creates suction. As a partial vacuum is created around the penis, blood is drawn into the penis and helps it become engorged.

Excessive pressure, however, could cause vascular damage and not a harder penis.

It is VERY important to note that this method must be done carefully. Pumping, if done incorrectly, could cause serious injury. It can burst blood vessels, even causing blisters. The trick is to read the accompanying material closely and to stay patient in order to prevent permanent, irreversible damage.

  • Jelqing

Also known as "milking," this technique is done by wrapping the thumb and index finger around the penis while semi-erect to exercise its smooth muscle and other tissues. It can be done with simple instructions or with available tools and products.

  • Clamping

Watch out for this dangerous male enhancement technique. Intended to increase girth, clamping uses a device such as cable clamp, shoestring, or a cock ring to constrict the penis. EXTREME precaution is necessary; a metal cock ring stuck in a hardened penis could only be removed with amputation or emergency procedure.

  • Cosmetic method

The penis can actually appear bigger with simple cosmetic touches. These include losing weight or trimming the pubic hair.

Aside from these often-risky methods and expensive surgery, what could be done for successful male enhancement?

Male enhancement pills – some of them all-natural herbal supplements – serve as another handy option. Usually offered and marketed over the Internet, these pills make specific benefits such as bigger penile size, fuller and more controlled erections, increased penile sensitivity, and enhanced pleasure, energy and performance during sexy time.

The trick is to choose the method with the maximum possible safety and effectiveness.

Now in its thoroughly updated Third Edition, this classic work is the most comprehensive reference ever published on surgical flaps for reconstructing defects in the upper extremities. In clearly organized chapters, internationally recognized surgeons describe and illustrate every clinically proven flap option available for repairing every routine and unusual defect. Complementing the text are hundreds of clinical photographs and diagrams of anatomy, blood supply, flap design, and operative procedures. The Third Edition features new chapters by the original experts who have made landmark contributions to the recent literature. Many chapters from the previous edition have been completely revised. Wherever appropriate, the editors have added editorial comments to guide the reader in selection of flaps. The volume is extensively indexed and organized by anatomic region, and chapters follow a uniform format that clearly presents all the information needed on each flap—indications, anatomy, blood supply, surgical techniques, complications, safeguards to keep in mind, and advantages and disadvantages of the flap. From this remarkably complete collection of clinical information, surgeons can select with confidence the best flap for safe, predictable, and aesthetically acceptable results.
