Extreme sensitivity to light?? Are there solutions?

Hi, So I've had eye problems and bad eye sight since birth. But now recently (last couple of months) I realized that I am very sensitive to light. And not just the outside light, but my TV screen light, my computer screen light, any light. It is very painful as well, which really hurts my eyes. It hurts to her head. So I was wondering if there is any solution to this. Such as prosthetic contact lenses that filter the amount of light entering my eyes? (Or something like that) Or anything i could do eye surgery? Does anyone know anything about PS Yes, I have bad eye sight, but I do not wear contact lenses or anything, I just wear glasses. Y I am not looking to wear sunglasses all the time I am out but I do not use them when i watch cable! Please and thanks! XOXO JAZZY

Yes There are solutions, rather funny, that now with most of them with it! I'll start the disclaimer of "go see an eye doctor, as sensitivity to light may be a sign of serious eye problems such as infection or iritis. If it is only to be sensitive without real health problem, then the obvious answer is "wearing glasses sun inside. "tends to be quick and easy answer, while figure something out. Many patients with low vision (ie, people whose vision is not correctable to normal or near normal, with glasses or contact lenses by an eye disease or other problems) are more sensitive to light, and there are special dyes, usually yellow and orange light, reducing glare inside without looking too ridiculous. Some of these are available as lenses contact and, although difficult to find - are usually grouped into custom and / or contact lenses, prostheses, and are special orders. Surgeries, not so I suppose it was technically possible to implement some kind of lens or filter, but I've never heard of such a thing was never tempted. It's definitely something to talk with your doctor about the eyes, and you might be more successful deal with a clinic that specializes in low vision services for some of these solutions are less common. Good luck!

Description

Even with the advances in intraocular lens technology and the growing diversity of refractive surgery techniques, the role of contact lenses in ophthalmic practice has only increased. This is due in part to the great strides in materials, technology, expanding applications (both refractive and therapeutic) for contact lenses, and the clear recognition that contact lenses will always be an important tool for the ophthalmologist. With the fitting of contact lenses as a medical art, requiring a thorough understanding of anatomy, physiology and optics of the eye, this practice is formulaic only in part. The rest of contact lens practice requires sound medical judgment and decision- making that comes only with 'hands-on' experience. The authors address this need by starting with a didactic approach that incorporates frequently-asked questions and straightforward answers so that the ophthalmology resident, intermediate contact lens practitioner, and optometrist will find this to be an indispensable resource.
