Has anyone had the removal of the eyes due to melanoma of the eye?

If so, how he had learned and how to cope? Can people tell if you have a prosthetic eye? I had retinal images taken last month and my right eye image was a spot on the retina so my doctor took a look at it. At first she told me she had a scar, but then said no because he grew up and referred me to a retinal specialist I will see in two weeks. She said its probably just eye "gummy" whatever it is, but I do not believe him. I had a mole in the eye and now I think he turned to melanoma (I have big blue eyes and am in the sun too long). I am very scared and just need a advice.
