Could My Finger Be Broken?

I was catching for a baseball game when a ball bouced and hit me hard in the finger. the joints dont hurt but the top bone in my index finger is swelling and is very painful to touch. it is warm also. the joint is a little sore but not nearly as bad as the top bone itself. i did this 4 days ago and it still hurts so i need some info fast because it is painful to throw a ball and i have a game tomorrow. It hurts to apply pressure to the top and bottom of the finger but nothing seems out of place. could it just be a bad bruise, because I don't want to miss a game to go to the docs for a bruise.

Might be a bad tear, might be broken, Get it x-rayed, dont even think about sports unless you have a cast on it.

Introducing Birmingham Detective Sergeant Kate Power, exiled from London's Metropolitan Police by personal tragedy and making a new start in the distant outpost of Birmingham CID. Her new Brummie bosses are good men, for the most part, but they can't seem to let their new female colleague alone long enough to get on with her job. Kate is anxious to lose herself in her work, and before too long a case comes along that will consume her in a way she could never have imagined.Young boys are being abducted, abused, and murdered on her patch, and she feels intense personal and professional pressure to catch those responsible. Kate must navigate the unfamiliar channels of power in male-dominated Birmingham; are her colleagues being deliberately obstructive or simply dragging their feet? Soon she is forced to make an important decision: Should she follow the conventional line of enquiry, toe the company line, and work as part of the team, or should she strike out on her own, reputation be damned?Kate's got her work cut out for her, but she's a tough young cop who's seen a lot in her brief career and no one, not a heavy-handed supervisor or a vicious killer, is going to stop her from surviving, and thriving, in Birmingham. Power on Her Own is a taut, gritty cop novel from talented crime writer Judith Cutler.

Description

The Greek Dream Inspired by Actual EventsThe novel deals with certain historical subjects: the desperate fate of Greek communists who sought refuge in Eastern Bloc countries after the Greek civil war in 1949, the general atmosphere during the Cold War, the murderous activities of the terrorist organization, November 17 operating in Greece until 2002, which managed to kill the CIA station chief in 1975. This story, inspired by those realities, depicts how tension and moral considerations emerge in the late 1970s as the CIA in Athens joins with Greek officials to track down the terrorists. The principal characters are Barbara Baldwin, an American Embassy wife in Athens, who, as a result of a ski trip to Bulgaria with her children becomes emotionally involved with the fate of a Bulgarian officer and tries to stake out a place for herself as an operative, perhaps putting her child in danger; Ivan Dimitrov, a Bulgarian officer of Greek origin assigned as attache to the Bulgarian Embassy in Athens, who longs for repatriation to Greece or defection to the United States and becomes a target of November 17; Dana Franklin, the CIA station chief accredited to the American Embassy in Athens, who uses Dimitrov as a double agent; and Robert Baldwin (Barbara's husband), the political officer posted to the American Embassy in Athens. Each of these people is in danger of compromising the other by dint of national concerns and sheer personal ambition. The settings, Greece and Bulgaria, fascinating Balkan countries, offer a dramatic context for the themes that develop in the course of the novel.

Description

I would sit in the dining hall, surreptitiously examining my fellow murderers. You could never have guessed their crimes just by looking. There were former bank managers, accountants, solicitors, bus drivers, as well as tinker, tailor, soldier, sailor. There was even a former priest. A more normal-looking group of men you couldn’t have found anywhere. Murder, it seemed, was no respecter of occupation or social status. Bestselling author of Parkhurst Tales, Norman Parker was convicted of murder and spent much of his sentence in category A prisons. There’s nothing Norman can’t tell you about doing time. By turns horrifying, dark and funny, Living With Killers is an extraordinary insight into life in one of Britain’s most notorious prisons. A real-life story, the name of the prison and its inhabitants has been changed, allowing Norman to tell nothing but the truth and expose the dark, raw reality of prison life. With a huge cast of eccentric characters, and stories that will make you laugh and wince in equal measure, this book is a must-read for anyone interested in the truth about what really goes on behind bars.

Description

Auto-immune diseases present an enormous challenge to Medicine, and much work has been done in an attempt to solve their mystery. But despite all these efforts they remain an enigma, and scientific research is still unable to provide the medical profession with the therapeutic tools it needs. With an advance of two centuries, homeopathy offers physicians the way to follow to restore the balance of vital energy, guarantor of our health. Such a path offers many pitfalls, especially when it comes to auto-immune disease, and so long as the practitioner adheres to the rules of classic homeopathy the difficulties may appear insurmountable. If, on the other hand, the sequential method, promulgated by the author for the past thirty years, is adopted, the patient can be brought back to the way of health, with an even more favourable prognosis if the treatment is attuned to the immutable signals we have received from the majestic round of the four seasons ever since the dawn of time.
